JOSH WEATHERFORD

Josh Weatherford, ReNew’s shop manager, was recognized as the first-ever technician to complete a Biomedical Apprenticeship program in association with AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and the Us Department of Labor. The ReNew Training Academy was proud to be a part of the landmark for the HTM industry. As part of this two-year course, Josh achieved both his CABT and CBET certifications.

“I signed up for the CABT class as soon as they were available. It’s a lot of the same concepts and methodology (as a mechanic). The IT Management is something I didn’t have, so that’s been challenging, but everything else is similar to what I was doing as for as working on equipment and keeping it up and running.”– Josh

JOHN EMERSON

“At first, it’s daunting to see all the different types of equipment on the shelves and the boxes and rows of circuit boards and other parts. You think to yourself, “How on earth am I supposed to know what everything is supposed to do?” Then you start to work in classes-get the terms down- and then they give you the same type of problems to fix. That way you’re practically using the knowledge as soon as you leave the classroom.”– John

ISABELLE GIBSON

Isabelle Gibson first began pursuing her biomedical career after finding out she was expecting her son, Jude, and was unable to enter the Air Force as she originally planned. She found the ReNew Biomedical Training Academy, which allowed her to get her professional certification without having to spread herself too thin between the workplace and the classroom. Isabelle had completed her CABT and is now a full-time biomed technician.

JACOB KOELSH

“I’ve been working with another medical company for five years, with them I got to see the outside of the industry like the sales. Now, I feel like I have a far more precise understanding of what happens on the inside.”– Jacob
